Dayna Patterson and Sarah J. Sloat

Dayna Patterson is a photographer, mixed media artist, and irreverent bardophile. She’s the author of Our Lady of Thread (forthcoming, 2027), O Lady, Speak Again (2023), and If Mother Braids a Waterfall (2020), all from Signature Books. She collaborated with Susan Alexander, Luther Allen, Jennifer Bullis, and Bruce Beasley to produce a poetry collection of interwoven poems, A Spiritual Thread (Other Mind Press, 2024). Honors include the Association for Mormon Letters Poetry Award and the 2019 #DignityNotDetention Poetry Prize judged by Ilya Kaminsky. She has been a Sustainable Arts Fellow at Mineral School Artist’s Residency, and her photo-essay “Lightwork” was awarded first place in Exponent II’s 2021 essay contest. Her creative work has appeared in AGNI, Best Spiritual Literature, Hotel Amerika, Kenyon Review, North American Review, Passages North, POETRY, Sugar House Review, Western Humanities Review, Whale Road Review, and others. She’s the founding editor (now emerita) of Psaltery & Lyre and a co-editor of Dove Song: Heavenly Mother in Mormon Poetry (Peculiar Pages, 2018).
